Amazing Print Ads - Part 3

To create a good ad is extremely challenging, specially because of the digital tendency we have now. In this post I want to talk about some print ads I found on the web, but first of all I want to make clear that I'm not agree in using sex to sell, thats very common and you see it in many ad campaigns, for me is the easiest and lazy way to sell... But what about sex products? How can you sell them without being so explicit? Well, Durex Condoms has the answer, they have a series of brilliant ads! Take a look:

Unconventional Products You Want!

Doing research for my blog I discovered www.monkeyzen.com, they talk about many things and I really like their website. They have a huge number of unconventional products that made me want to buy them all! I know that I don't really need them and I can use the "traditional" form of all of them... But they are so original! Take a look:

iCufflinks: These cufflinks have LED "pulsing" technology, similar to the "breathing" LED pattern on many laptop and computer systems, the good thing is they can be reprogrammed to any pattern you'd like. To buy a pair click here!

Sharky: It's a floating tea-infuser with the form of a shark fin, marauding through the dangerous waters of your tea mug that simultaneously releases streamers of steeped tea that look suspiciously like the detritus after a nasty shark attack. It is not for sale yet because it is a concept design created by Pablo Matteodo, a designer from Argentina.

Click and Grow: It's an easy-to-use electronic flowerpot that will grow your plan for you, you don't have to worry about watering, fertilising or any other kind of extra care. Everything is taken care of by the sensors, microprocessor and special software in the flowerpot. It combines beautiful design and innovative technology. To buy one click here!

Corkcicle: It's a giant, reusable chilling wine cork. It's just right for all your wine chilling needs and will keep the wine's temperature for 45 minutes! To buy one click here!

Goggle Umbrella: These Thaiwanese's Umbrellas protects you from wind and water, specially your face but with a built-in happy factor! An integrated display that eliminates the potential tripping hazard when you walk. To buy one click here!

Ink Removal Printer: Its a printer with a laser technology that removes the ink from a sheet of paper! It will allow to re-use used paper and help the planet! It is still a project and it's not yet for sale

Flashkus: A concept design from Art Lebedev Studio, it is a block of four cardboard disposable flash drives that have different amounts of storage on them, they cost from $20 to $50 each set.To buy one click here!

iChocoltes: They come in an iPhone box with 20 pieces of gourmet chocolates decorated like apps, they are 100% organic and make a great gift for an Apple Lover (like me). To buy a box click here!

The 10 Best Ads from Steve Jobs at Apple

My husband sent me a very interesting article from AdAge.com about the top 10 best Ads from Steve Jobs. I loved the article! And it is no secret that I'm an Apple lover!!!

With Steve Jobs resigning as CEO of Apple and his unfortunate death, the Company has a very challenging path: keep growing and leading technology industry as they did with Mr. Jobs in charge.

Please check out the article from AdAge http://adage.com/article/news/apple-ads-steve-jobs-10-apple-advertisements/229465/ one of my favorites series of Ads is Mc Vs PC.

Twitter: Faster Than Earthquakes!

Yes, Twitter is faster than earthquakes! If you don't believe it look at this:

With this TV Spot Twitter reinforces its equities: a real-time information network that connects you to your friends, experts, favorite celebrities, and breaking news. Great campaign, I really like it!

3D Ads for iPad

My husband gave a very the best B-Day gift ever: an iPad! I simply love it and I'm addicted to it. Of course, now that I have one, I'm always searching for accessories and whatever has to do with it, and look what I found surfing YouTube: 3D Ads for iPad from InMobi and Coolirins for Samsung. Bye-bye Vacations...

Vacations are almost over, it is so nice to have a few days off this time of the year... In my case, I couldn't go anywere because of my job, but lets say I had a "break"!

Now that I'm back againg in writing, I wanted to share with you this particular invention... A fork!

The inventor is Bob Balow and he demonstrates how to use his invention: "The Original Pasta Fork". Sliding fingers down the long spiral handle makes it rotate around the center prong of the fork, thus winding the spaghetti onto the fork.Take a look at this video to understand how it works!

The fork can be ordered at http://www.theoriginalpastafork.com

I'm hungry now!

Pepsi Vs. Coca-Cola

It is no secret the rivality that has taken place for many years between Pepsi and Coca-Cola. This time, Pepsi launched a campaign called "Summer Time Is Pepsi Time" where Pepsi receives help from Santa Claus (an iconic Coca-Cola character).

Massimo d'Amore, CEO-PepsiCo Beverages America said: "Its right for Pepsi to play with this inside joke that in summer time everybody drinks Pepsi, even the most iconic Coke celebrity, which is Santa" and I agree! I really like the campaign and the execution! Take a look at the spot:

This spot was created by Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day. What do you think of this new Pepsi campaign? Do you think Pepsi can "own" the summer?

McDonald's Digital Interaction - Part 3

This is yet another interactive McDonald's Billboard in Stockholm (Sweden). The interactive billboard challenged anyone to play a game of pong to win free goodies from McDonald. Anyone with a smartphone could play!

The system’s designers wanted to make it as easy as possible to begin playing, requiring users to simply enter a URL in their mobile phone’s browser. As soon as the smartphone’s geolocation confirms the player is in the area, the game begins, with the player controlling the billboard’s Pong game with the smartphone’s touchscreen.

Even though if you don't like McDonalds food, this is a great way do do something different, specially if we consider that we have an over saturated advertising market... And the association with the brand is present! It seems really fun!!!

McDonald's Digital Interaction - Part 2

This is another interactive McDonald's billboard in Piccadilly Circus, England. Passers-by could interact with images displayed on McDonald’s giant LED screen, and visitors were able to take an interactive role at one of London’s most photographed locations.

McDonalds has invited members of the public to upload their photographs of the McDonald’s Piccadilly Circus sign on Flickr. Take a look at the video:

I think its a good idea, but they show things like a hat, an umbrella, things that has nothing to do with McDonalds or fast food... This, in my personal opinion, should reinforce brand equities. What do you think?

McDonald's Digital Interaction - Part 1

Yesterday I was in conference offered by Microsoft and they presented a case that I really like. Its a case of digital interaction with billboards.

McDonalds Catch The Goodies billboard

Billboards are nothing new, but McDonald's is using them in a smart way. They did something really different: interactive billboards. DDB Stockholm created this clever and simple interactive billboard game for McDonald's, menu items bounce and fly through the screen. If you're quick enough to capture one in a cell-phone pic, it's yours free at a nearby McDonald's. Take a look:

Happy weekend with Samsung Galaxy!

My husband posted this video on his Facebook and it worth to share it! Its a TVC from Samsung and very well executed! I like it!!!

In the mood for cooking? With Coca-Cola?

Coca-Cola Venezuela wants to share with you simple cooking recepies with their spots called "Secretos de Casa" (in english: Home Secrets) in Televen, a private national TV Network.

It is good to mention that in Venezuela the law does not allow to do product placement in TV shows or regular branded entertainment in open TV, so the turn of 2 minutes of regular spot but with the look-and-feel of a TV show is very smart!

There are more "Secretos de Casa" to come!!! Enjoy and happy cooking!!!

The Future by Airbus

One of the things that fascinates me is technology and the future! I was surfing the web and found out about the company Airbus. They are a leading aircraft manufacture and did a survey to ask 10,000 people around the world, who will be passengers in 2050, what they will want from air transport. The answer was clear: cheaper, greener and more fun! Airbus believes they can make this happen; that the world can be better connected and still look after the environment.

Airbus recently introduced the new concept plane and also the panoramic view in 2050. Take a look at the pictures and video! It looks amazing!!!
